Our Story
In 2003 Sarah and John Chalmers started a home-based business and gradually grew it to Chocolate Sensations at its present flagship location downtown beautiful Paris, Ontario. In June 2020 Sarah and John opened a second location in the village of Ancaster, Ontario.
Sarah and John met in Northern Ontario and were married in 1998.
Their daughter Taylor was born in 2002 and she has seen the business grow and prosper. Taylor is now lead production, assistant chocolatier, and manages all social media accounts.
In 2005, son Ethan was born and was diagnosed as having Down Syndrome. At four years of age, Ethan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was treated wih intense chemotherapy over eight months and has been in remission since. More recently, Ethan has been diagnosed with the neurodevelopmental disorder called Autism.
Owning and operating any business as a family is not without its trials. Owning and operating a successful manufacturing and retail business as a family with serious medical challenges is extremely rewarding. We are grateful to our family, friends and loyal customer base for supporting us in achieving success. We are looking forward to our future and are excited about our future plans for Chocolate Sensations.
